Industry research

Who owns Nittendo. A man named Satori Iwata owns Nintendo. The editor of 'Nintendo the Official Magazine' is Chandra Nair. The company name is future publishing ltd.

Introduction: ONM features a large number of tips, tricks, and reviews designed to either advertise, help, or entertain readers. Occasionally, there are miscellaneous sections which focus on accessories and challenges relating to the franchise. Players are tempted to beat the challenges and post a photo to ONM HQ to be evaluated. Interviews with video-game developers are sometimes conducted in order to get a feel for what the new game will look like when it is completed. There are also numerous comedic jokes and puns scattered across the articles written. Readers may post mail or e-mail to ONM HQ regarding a question, complaint, or a picture of an ONM front cover for which the readers themselves draw or edit using editing software. The introduction usually contains a paragraph of writing composed by the editor, who gives a rough idea of the types of articles included in the magazine. There is also a content page and selected Nintendo news written. Advertising posters are implemented into the magazine. Forum poll results are presented in a grey box in the "Feedback" section.

Cotext: Mean Machines, a long-standing British games magazine, split into two separate magazines, focusing on the two then-major video games console companies; Sega and Nintendo. The Sega-based magazine retained the original title, Mean Machines Sega, while the Nintendo magazine was named Nintendo Magazine System. The first issue of Nintendo Magazine System was released on 1 October 1992. Its name was later changed to Nintendo Magazine, Nintendo Official Magazine then Nintendo Official Magazine UK, before its publisher was changed from EMAP to Future Publishing. After this change, the magazine was renamed to its current name, Official Nintendo Magazine, and received a new set of staff. Its numbering was also reset.
On 15 December 2008, the first issue of Official Nintendo Magazine for Australia & New Zealand, a monthly
video game magazine based on Official Nintendo Magazine, was published by Future Publishing. It is the second officially-endorsed Nintendo magazine released in Australia and New Zealand, succeeding the Australian Nintendo Magazine System, which ceased publishing in 2000.

Marketing: The House Style of Nintendos Magazine is that it concludes of lots pictures of games. It also spilts the contentence pages in main titles of big games e.g. it says 'Dead Rising' and a quote underneath. It also breacks it down in 'previews' and 'Reviews'. The contents also inclueds subscribsion rewards and sales. The magazine is closely the same as the 'N-Gamer'. (both nintendo based magazines). One diffrence is the 'N-Gamer' is more formal and does not advertise as much as 'Nitendo...'. It focuses more on info, rather then pictures and fuuny little quotes. I expect 'N-Gamer' to be less formal, as it is not the officail magazine. Both Magazines sell them selfs using small free things like posters, cheat books, or small nintendo merchandise, 'N-Gamer' more so then 'Nintendo...'.

Regulation: There arn't any press against Nintendo magazine as there is sothing wroung with it. Such as the jokes are not avensive and laguage is clean. Also it may bebecause it is aimed to teens. There for the press will not get a good story by shaming Nintendo magazine.

Global Implications: WEB.2.0 is that the future of media magazines wil be on the internet and made cheaper. David Gauntlett beilves that this will make magazines inathishant, the web will provide clips rather then pictures, and will cheaper to buy. In relation Nitendo Magazine will be affected as game demos can be put on the web, if not are already.

Target Audience: The target audience is teens and Nintendo fans. This is because the magazine is affordable £3.99. Also the name suggests it is for game lovers as Nintendo is a very well known games company. The front cover of the magazine also shos what will be in side with words and pictures. The magazine dose not use real life celebs, but uses well known Nintendo characters such as Mario. (If you see Mario on the front cover of a magazine, you know it will be about Nintendo or a new Mario game).

Positioning: Nintendo are very aware of there audience it is why they dont get bad press. They make the languge is formal but adds jokes to be light hearted. Also they make sure the pictures are not inepropeit for.
